Creating our family cookbook over the past ten years was truly a labor of love!  More hours and research went into it than I could have ever imagined, but in the end, we finally have all of our favorite family recipes in a single location.

Now that the first edition of the VandenPlas Family Favorite's Cookbook has been published, it's now time to take it to the next level.  As much as we all love paging thru a wonderful book, the world is changing - with most books being released in electronic format, with the first all "electronic library" opening this Spring, with not a single hard copy book or magazine on site.  Truly amazing!  For those of us that remember librarians and card catalogs at the library, it will be a new era.  

But the possibilities are endless!

My next mission and goal will be to re-create our hard copy recipes here as well - with photos and stories to share.

We also have shelves full of photo albums, scrapbooks, and a big trunk full of family photos, stories and momentos that need to be preserved, and this site will be the vault and means to capture and share those memories as well. 

I'll be adding new items continuously to this site, so please visit often!  Pull up a chair, sip on a cup of coffee or wine, and take a trip down memory lane.  If you have photos, stories or recipes that you would like to share as well, please let me know!
